| Answer: | No, we are a facilitation and referral agency. We describe ourselves as ‘extreme listeners’ – we listen, we support, we steady and we refer people to help and understanding in their own community. |
| Question: | Does the New Lamplight have plans to provide counseling services? |
| Answer: | Yes, we would like to be able to include a professional counseling facility as our resource base grows. We’re not there yet. |
| Question: | Do you deal with teens only? |
| Answer: | Our focus is teens for sure but we also get contacted by young adults, parents and grandparents – and we help them as much as we can too. |
| Question: | Are the New Lamplight’s services totally confidential? |
| Answer: | Yes, the only exception is if we have cause to suspect that someone is in danger, a danger to themselves or a danger to others then we are under a duty to involve the authorities. By the nature of the internet however it is not always possible to have the contact information of the individual so it is not always practicable to report a problem. We will always act in the best interest of safety. |
